Stargazing

The weather has been stunning over the last ten days at Powdermills Bed & Breakfast, near Inveraray. Warm and cloudless skies during the day and cold and clear nights.

One of the most magnificent sights in all of nature is the night sky peppered with stars, distant planets and streaking meteors. Luckily for us, Scotland has some of the largest expanses of dark sky in Europe making it a perfect destination for eager stargazers.  Powdermills Bed & Breakfast experiences low or practically non-existent levels of light pollution, revealing ink-black skies filled with dazzling stars.

Of course, you do not have to be an expert on astronomy to enjoy the stars. However, there is a brilliant web page on Visit Scotland that provides practical steps to help you locate and understand what is in the sky that night.
