High on Grass!

It has been unseasonably hot in the last two weeks.  The sun has shone brightly and for Scotland unusually regularly.  But it has also been interspersed with heavy rain downpours.  All of which has meant one thing – the grass in our garden at Powdermills Bed and Breakfast near Inveraray, is growing very fast!

Whilst it brings on the flowers and plants and provides vibrant colour, it provides me with the task of cutting the grass.  There is a lot of it – at least a couple of acres that needs cut every 7 to 10 days.  This is my job and because of the terrain, a ride on lawn mower is not really suitable.  So it’s a five hour walk up and down the lawns and pathways of Powdermills, including up to the old ruins, pushing the motorised lawn cutter.

Of course, Boo and Mabel love cutting the lawn – its a five hour walk barking at me and the lawnmower!

However, it is as exhausting for them as me. But it is very satisfying and the freshly cut lawns look terrific. It makes a walk round the Powdermills Bed and Breakfast gardens even more stunning.
