GUEST DOG POLICY

WE WOULD BE GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD READ THE FOLLOWING:

Powdermills Bed and Breakfast in Inveraray is ideal for dogs. It has slate floors with rugs and direct access out into our secure 10-acre garden. We have established routes around the grounds that are perfect for an early morning or early evening walk with your dog.

Please follow these dog rules:

  • We are happy to welcome friendly, well behaved dogs and their owners, but not dogs that are likely to be aggressive to other dogs or people.
  • Please always keep your dog under control, and be mindful that not everyone likes dogs, so do not let your dog approach other guests unless they encourage it.
  • The grounds are dog-proofed but if you own a talented escapologist, who is likely to get through, or over the fence, please be aware that we are bordered by farmland.
  • All dog waste must be bagged and deposited in a dustbin behind the garage. Please clear up after your dog if they make a mess on the lawn. We supply dog poo bags.
  • We would be grateful if you could dry off dogs and wipe off muddy paws before taking them into the bedrooms – we can supply a dog towel and a large throw. There is also a tap and short hose outside at the garage.
  • We ask that you only bring your dog if they are fully house trained. If they do have an accident in the room that you are not able to clear up yourself, please notify us immediately; any damage or excessive cleaning may occur an additional charge.
  • Dogs must not be left alone in the guest bedroom when you go out. We have had some bad experiences with dogs being left in the rooms.
  • Dogs must not be allowed be in the rooms unaccompanied whilst guests have breakfast unless they sleep in a crate. We ask that you put them in your car ensuring that there is adequate ventilation for this short period.
  • Please do not allow dogs on any furniture in the bedroom.
  • We ask that your dog is be up to date with flea and worming treatments.
  • If you are following any walks in the area, please be aware of livestock and keep your dog on a lead.
  • We are not able to allow dogs in the Garden Room at breakfast.
  • Finally, we are starting ‘rogue’s gallery’ of all the dogs that have visited Powdermills. If you are happy for us to take a picture of your dog, we will put it on www.powdermillsbnb.co.uk for posterity.  If you want to send us your picture – better still – send it to sue@powdermillsbnb.co.uk.
